ICE-5 Fuel System Icing Inhibitor Aerosol
Aero-Sense ICE-5 Fuel System Icing Inhibitor (FSII) is an anti-icing additive that prevents icing of water in aircraft fuel systems Aircraft that lack fuel heating systems are vulnerable to the freezing of small amounts of autonomous water in the fuel, which may block fuel lines, filters and valves. Mixing ICE-5 into the fuel at a ratio of 0.10% to 0.15% based on volume will stop this from happening. One aerosol of ICE-5 can treat from 330 to 500 litres of fuel. Mix thoroughly to avoid separation of the inhibitor and fuel.
- Fully water-soluble
- Inhibits bacteria-growth in fuel tanks
- Convenient blending while refuelling
500 ml aerosol
ASTM-D4171-03 compliant
Chemical properties according to MIL-DTL-85470 & DEF STAN 68-252
British Joint Service Designation AL-41
NATO Code Number S-1745
ICE-5 is mixed into the fuel at a ratio of 0.10% to 0.15% based on volume. To avoid overdosing, check the ratio of DiEGME in the kerosene before using ICE-5. Mixing is required to avoid separation of the inhibitor and fuel.
Verify that the application conforms to the P.O.H. and the aircraft or engine manufacturer’s instructions. ICE-5 concentrate must not come into direct contact with the aircraft’s painted surfaces or the fuel tank’s coated interior.
